Web feeds (RSS or Atom) are popping up all over the internet now; usually associated with an orange icon and the word 'Subscribe', also 'XML', 'RSS' or 'Atom'

A feed is web based content (text, audio or video) published in a standardised format that you can subscribe to using a feed reader (also know as a news reader). Online feed readers are becoming very popular because they require no software installation and can be accessed from anywhere using a browser.
