Valentine’s Day Part 1 – The Big Stores Have it All

The first question on most people’s lips would probably be, where do I start? You don’t have to spending hours searching for a store with Valentines Day deals, just look at what is right in front of you.

Myer is advertising a large range of gifts for both men and women online. For her, there are the usual romantic gifts such as perfume and jewellery. However, there are also more personalised gifts which including clothing and handbags.

For him, there is aftershave, underwear and electronics advertised. If you have a man that loves his labels, Calvin Klein, Gucci, Tommy Hilfiger and Van Heusen are just some of the designers advertised.

Myer may not be for those who have a small budget. The gifts are sorted into different price ranges, however there is only one item under $50 for women and three items under $50 for men.

However, Myer is offering free delivery for most online products.

Although Myer’s Valentine’s Day promotion can be used as just a guide, it is a little disappointing to see just the usual Valentines Day gifts and not many unique gifts ideas.

Coles is another big store offering Valentines Day deals. It may not be gifts made by high end designers, but they can still say I Love You to the one you care about.

Simply click on the Valentines Day tab located on the home page and the gifts are sorted into different categories including boxed chocolates, desserts, DVDs, Dinner Date at Home, For Him and For Her.

What I like about this website is that you can collect everything you need at the same time. Those cooking a meal at home can pick up all their ingredients for a three course feast as well as a romantic movie to end the night.

Flowers are a beautiful gesture, yet they can be fairly overpriced for only lasting a couple of days. The flowers available from Coles online range from $8 to $15 and still look very classy.

The main gifts advertised for him include all the car detailing equipment and alcohol. Just think of the amazing basket of presents every girlfriend and wife could make with minimal money.

For her, chocolates, champagne and beauty products are the main gifts available.

I have found that Coles seems to be more suited to those who are more interested in creating a beautiful evening with their partner than buying the perfect gift, whereas Myer is definitely more gift-focused.

The big branded stores may not seem like the first place to go for Valentines Day, but they do have a lot to offer, not matter what you have in stall for February 14th.
