Bag a Sony Bonus This Holiday Season
You can usually rely on Sony to have some great promotions during the Christmas shopping period, and this year is no exception. Bonus offers this year include 12 months unlimited movie streaming, and a Blu-ray Star Wars Trilogy.
To claim your bonus, all you have to do is purchase a qualifying product (from an authorised reseller) during the promotion period, and register your purchase online.
Bravia HD TV Bonus: 12 Months Unlimited Movies
(3 Nov to 24 Dec 2011)
Sony has teamed up with the new Quickflix internet movie subscription service, to give you 1 year of unlimited movies, streamed direct to your new Sony Internet TV. Quickflix streaming only plans start at $14.99 per month, but it looks like you also get 3 months of unlimited DVDs (1 disc at a time) by mail too, so this bonus from Sony is worth $234.85.
Blu-ray Home Theatre Bonus: Blu-ray Start Wars Trilogy
(3 Nov to 3 Jan 2012)
If you’re a fan of Star Wars, and planning to buy a new home theatre system this year, you’ll love this Sony Bonus. You get to choose the original or prequel Star Wars Trilogy on Blu-ray, when you buy a Sony Blu-ray Home Theatre System. This bonus prize is worth $69.98. All Blu-ray transfers are not equal, but I looked at some reviews for the Star Wars Blu-ray discs online, and they’re highly recommended, with 4/5 for HD video quality, and 5/5 for HD sound.
HD Handycam Bonus: 1TB Hard Drive
(3 Nov to 31 Jan 2012)
Buy a Sony HD Camcorder and you’ll get a bonus 1TB Buffalo portable hard disk drive with a Direct Copy Cable. I checked out the Buffalo MiniStation USB HDD online, and it’s PC and Mac compatible, compact, and lightweight, weighing just 165g. The portable drive has a 4 start average customer rating on Amazon.com too, with people commenting on how tiny and fast it is. The total prize value is $148.
I strongly advise you to check the terms & conditions at the Sony Australia website, before you buy your new Sony products, as purchases through online resellers like eBay, GraysOnline, and others not authorised by Sony Australia, will not be considered eligible.
I checked out all the major online home entertainment retailers, and apart from the [Sony Online Store], I only found Big Brown Box clearly participating in this promotion. I’m not sure if other popular online home electronics stores like WOW Sight & Sound, Dick Smith, JB Hi-Fi Online, and Bing Lee are participating. I think they’re all Sony Australia Authorised Dealers, but it would be a good idea to send an email or chat online before you purchase.
What do you think, are these bonus offers tipping the scales in favour of you buying a new Sony product this year, or do you prefer other brands when it comes to your home entertainment?
