Steve Jobs Biography Now Available – Extreme Diets, Apple Television, Android Wars, Obsessive Habits & Success

The official biography of the late Steve Jobs is finally available for purchase at the iTunes Store. If you’re interested in seeing what made Steve Jobs tick, this biography written by Walter Isaacson will be the only e-book you need.

The Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson is Ready for Purchase

I must admit I’m not one to read many biographies, I’m a technical reader with tonnes of books about computers, codes and how to’s. When I saw that Steve Jobs was writing a biography I thought about reading it. It would be interesting to see how Steve Jobs worked. There’s a few other big business biographies I’d like to read as well including Richard Branson but Steve Jobs seemed like a more interesting read simply because of the personality Steve Jobs portrayed, and of course the products he made.

What stopped me from the pre-order was the price of the iBook. I’m sure I saw a price of about $37 which I thought was way too much. Yesterday however, I took the plunge and bought the iBook from iTunes for a much cheaper price of $9.99AU. If you don’t have an e-book reader compatible with the iBook format, you can purchase the biography in hardcover format from Amazon for $17.88. Unfortunately the Amazon Kindle version of the book isn’t yet available for purchase.

If you’re looking for more books about the late Steve Jobs, Amazon have a big list for you, just run a search for “Steve Jobs”. I personally want to read the official biography because it is in a sense the book Steve wanted us to read, an uncensored book where Steve Jobs specifically asked not to be a part of. He didn’t want to know what was written.

“I know there will be a lot in your book I won’t like, That’s good.” he said. “Then it won’t seem like an in-house book. I won’t read it for a while because I don’t want to get mad. Maybe I will read it in a year – if I’m still around.”.

There’s a heap of book quotes leaking to the internet in recent days, many about his alternative therapies to fight cancer, and his obsessive need for control of Apple products from design right through to the packing, a new Apple Television, and his call to war on Google Android. There’s also much more said about his continual experimentation with life, from extreme diets, drugs, compulsion to think “outside” the box, and ability to reassess everything he did. The qualities I think made Apple such a success.

I’ve only read a few paragraphs from random parts of the the book so far and I can tell it’s going to be a good read. Reading about how his family found it difficult to help him during the cancer treatment when he would storm away speechless from a table laden with food gets to me. I’m reminded about how true to any other family going through cancer treatment that scene really is. Once I finish reading the book I’ll add a few more comments to this article. If you’re interested in buying the book, the links below will take you to the web sites and products mentioned above.

If you’ve read the book we’d love to here your comments about it below.
