If you’re looking to buy the Amazon Kindle online, you can now buy it direct from one of Australia’s largest retailers.
For some time now buying the Amazon Kindle has been a problem when shipping the devices to Australia, especially with the 3G Kindle. Not long ago Big W started to list the Kindle devices in their catalogs, and now you can shop online for the Kindle device at the Big W online store.
I’ve never been a great fan of the Kindle devices simply because the grey screen never appealed to me. I do however buy a lot of Kindle books. I think if I didn’t already have a reading device I would certainly have an Amazon Kindle.
If you follow the tech news you may already know there’s a newer version of the Kindle device released in the US called the Kindle Fire. A 7 inch colour display device that is Google Android enabled so you can do much more than read books. But while there’s little news about when the new Kindle Fire device will be shipping to Australia, you can buy the current Australian release of the Amazon Kindle Graphite at Big W.
If you’re new to reading devices, the Kindle will be a perfect entry level device. There are other cheaper alternatives for digital readers, but my advise is to stick with the biggest book seller in the world for your purchased electronic books. It’s a safe investment.
At Big W you can choose between the 3G and Wi-Fi Kindle book, or the Wi-Fi only device. Normally I would say buy the 3G enabled Kindle, but because the Kindle on sale at Big W is only used for reading, I can’t see much need for downloading more books via the 3G mobile phone network. Just download your books before you leave for the outdoor reading adventure.
