With only a handful of days left before Father’s Day I would normally have done heaps of Father’s Day articles for you. But this years Father’s Day rush has been a little harder for me to do. Today I’ll show you my top 5 Father’s Day gift cards to buy online, and let you know why I’ve been away.
Over the last month or two my family has been in overdrive supporting and helping my Dad fight a 4 year battle with leukaemia. Sadly my father lost the battle and passed away peacefully 2 weeks ago. Showing you where to buy the latest Father’s Day gifts online and trying write an article for Father’s Day was impossible to do without being overwhelmed with emotion.
Today I’m up for the task, so I’m going to show you my top 5 online gift cards for Father’s Day. I’ve picked these because I have either given them as a Father’s Day gift, or I’ve actually been given them as a Christmas or birthday present. These cards will be well worth a Father’s Day gift for your Dad.
Gift cards sometimes have a stigma for being a cheap present or a present with no thought. This stigma couldn’t be further from the truth. Online gift cards are quick and easy to send, and there’s no risk of buying the wrong thing. As long as your sisters or brothers aren’t already buying a gift card for Father’s Day, I highly recommend making sure your Dad gets at least one gift card ;)

My top gift card to buy online is of course a gift card from iTunes. If he’s into music like my Dad was, if he likes his iPhone / iPod games, even if he reads his paper on the iPad in the morning, go buy an iTunes gift card with at least $30. A $30 iTunes gift card will buy close to 30 cheap 99 cent iPhone / iPod or iPad apps, about 17 iTunes songs, and almost 2 decent albums priced at $17 each.

Number three of my top 5 online gift cards is an Amazon gift card. Yes, another online book store but a big one. Amazon is famous for books and electronic books, but you can also buy a massive range of other products from almost every product category possible. Be careful though, while the books are easy to purchase and deliver to Australia, not all of the products can be shipped to Australia. Unfortunately Amazon don’t detail if the product ships to Australia very well, and at Online Shopping Australia we’ve had a few readers asking for help about it.

Forth in line for my top 5 gift vouchers is Jeanswest, now I must say I’ve never given a Jeanswest online gift card but I’ve certainly had one and I bought a fantastic bike jacket just by adding a few extra dollars to the gift card. You can’t go wrong with clothing gifts, provided it’s a gift card so your Dad can go pick what he wants. Jeanswest have amounts of $10 to $50 available and can be delivered by email or post.

The 5th and last gift card I recommend for Father’s Day is a gift card from JB Hi-Fi. You can add any amount to the electronic gift card, and your Dad can pick from a big range of DVDs, music CDs, digital cameras, computers, laptops, entertainment systems, and heaps more. The email gift card can also be timed for your Dads birthday for example. Not a bad gift card if your Father likes thousands of DVD movies to choose from.
