Clive Peeters Online Store – Now Closed

Late last week the Clive Peeters online store was disabled as Harvey Normans’ chairman Gerry Harvey announced the company wasn’t able to be repair the damage brought on by it’s very public collapse last year. Full details about the failed business is still early, but for now online shopping at Clive Peeters has been shut down.

I always feel a bit sorry for customers in the middle of an online order when I see retailers shutdown their web site with a flick of a switch. Hopefully any orders you may have with the Clive Peeters online store will be completed as usual. Email subscribers received an email from the Clive Peeters online store on Friday stating the web site has closed, and further checking at the web site confirmed the product pages have been disabled. While news of the physical stores fate has been declared by Gerry Harvey, there is no conclusive news about the future of the online store.

However, the email we received did hint that the web site will be re-branded, as they promised email subscribers would be kept informed. When the email subscription services are kept with the promise of an email at a later date, you can understand that there’s going to be some kind of re-branding or re-launch soon; How else could the owners keep your email address :)

I would love to see the web site changed into a fully working Harvey Norman online store, but the existing Harvey Norman web site is already working except of course the ordering process. So perhaps Gerry Harvey is planning to use the Clive Peeters web site online ordering infrastructure?

One thing is for sure, the Clive Peeters store has been disabled for an unknown amount of time, and perhaps indefinitely.
