Australia Day in the Great Outdoors – Beach Cricket, Pool Parties, Park Picnics, Music & More
Today, Australia Day is all about scoring a day off work to go visit your mates BBQ party, or to enjoy the greater outdoors. Before I leave work for the Australia Day celebrations, I thought I would let you know about my favorite online stores’ Australia Day sale, just in case you’re spending the day indoors.
Australia Day commemorates the arrival of the First Fleet at Sydney Cove in 1788. What Australia Day means may have changed since 1788, but it’s still a great day to set aside and to reflect on what makes this country so great to live in. Typically that means enjoying the sunny outdoors. But if you’re spending the day in the house or on the computer, there’s always a heap of bargains on sale supporting the Australia Day theme.
I’ve listed my favorite discount department store sale below, but if the items at OO aren’t to your liking, why not try a Google search for Australia Day Sale (new window), Australia Day Discount (new window), there’s heaps of sales around.
OO.com.au have an “Australia Day Specials” sale Today. Included in the sale is a BBQ with 27% off the retail price at just $399.95. There’s also a few little charcoal BBQ ovens with 33% off the price. OO are also selling Australian flag paraphernalia, Australian flag beach balls, a fun blow up Australian flag water lounge thong, and an Australian flag Monster pool tube. Of course there is some sporting equipment on sale, including cricket gear and tennis gear. My personal favorite is the great outdoors, picnic gear for the sunny Australian days ahead.
So if you’re stuck in the house today because of the rain, or just feel like taking a casual Australia Day off at home, check out OO for some great bargains.
Another cool Australia Day sale if you’re interested in in buying some music is Apple iTunes. Apple iTunes are getting into the Aussie spirit with an “Australia Day Rocks” sale. The sale is supporting all Australian artists and their albums. It’s worth taking a look at these albums, some are as low as $8.99.
Happy Australia Day!
