Buying Gift Certificates & Vouchers – Instant Gifts for Unexpected Friends

If you’re stuck for a decent gift idea over the Christmas holidays or an unexpected friend just drops in bearing gifts, fear not because buying gift vouchers and online gift certificates is always there, ready to save the day.

For me, Christmas has always been seasoned with the chance of a far away friend, cousin, or family member showing up at the door without notice. And apart from the initial surprise and welcoming, there’s also the thought “I didn’t buy this person a present!”. If you find yourself in the same position perhaps an instant gift is suitable.

Most online shops have some form of gift card, and generally have an online gift category setup as well. Vouchers are a fantastic idea simply because you’re guaranteed that the recipient will buy something they want, rather than something you’re taking an educated guess on. These online gifts can be emailed or printed out, and the best part is that they are instant.

So if a friend drops in bearing gifts, you can quickly say, “excuse me, I need to head out and get some bread…”, then race off to the study room, and printout a gift from their favorite online shopping store. They’ll never know! ;)

Searching stores for gift vouchers shouldn’t be too difficult, but be sure you can print out or email the gift before you order. You could use the online stores’ search engine by searching for “gift”, or “voucher”. When I tried the OO.com.au web site I received a few results for their gift certificates. I then clicked one of the certificates, and looked for the “bread crumb” link (usually above the product) which linked back to the main gift certificate category.

It’s going to be different for many other web sites however these gift vouchers are not hard to find. Now that Christmas shopping online is slowing down, online stores are just about to start the gift voucher and gift certificate promotions, so it’s a perfect time to start gift voucher shopping!
