Amazon Lists Top 100 Customer Favorites for 2010

When you’re shopping online for books it can be difficult to choose the right book. Recently Amazon made it easier to buy books online with a Top 100 books list created by customers.
When I shop online for books at Amazon.com I always make a final decision based around the customer reviews. Too many times, I’ve purchased a book without reading the reviews, only to find I should have read what other customers said before I purchased the book. So when you can take a look at what other customers have bought, you’re getting a short list of books that are popular and a short list of books that should be good to read.
It’s not a list that is guaranteed to appeal to everyone, but if you’re shopping for books as Christmas gifts, it’s a perfect place to start shopping. The list contains the top 100 books based on Amazon customer orders, and only books published for the first time in 2010 are eligible. The bestselling book of 2010 will come as no surprise to me, Stieg Larssons “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest”. I haven’t read the book, but I have seen it posted around the online shopping stores in Australia. I think it’s number one because the book is the final of a trilogy series.
What I like about the list is that on the left of Amazons Top 100 Customer Favorites page, there is a break down of the favorites into categories showing the top 10 in each category. Categories include Arts & Photography, Business & Investing, Biographies & Memoirs, Children’s Books, Cookbooks, Home & Garden and around 16 more. Yes, it’s a little more than the top 100 when you browse the categories, but it is where I can easily find a book based on the category. Like popular children’s books such as the Diary of a Wimpy Kid – The Ugly Truth by Jeff Kinney which I purchased recently.
