My Shopping Experience at Discount Department Store OO

I haven’t written a review about actually placing an order online at OO, so I’ve created a few notes while I placed an order at one of my favorite online discount stores.

I was browsing the discount shopping store for iPad accessories because I needed an iPad holder or dock with both horizontal and vertical standing ability. Once I found that, I decided to look for a > charger for my dads new iPod Touch. I also found this > water proof iPhone case which is perfect for my kayaking exercise idea.

Discount iPod, iPhone, and iPad Accessories I Bought

ok, within the short space of about half an hour, I’ve managed to tally up $60 worth of goods very easily. So it’s time to enter the details, checkout and complete an order with OO.

After adding the items to the cart, you will need to register or sign in with an existing account before you can checkout and place the order with OO. When you’re logged in, you’re taken to a personal account page, where you can see previous orders, and have the ability to change your billing and shipping details.

Once logged in, I clicked the big green shopping cart logo at the top of the web pages, and the order process had started. Like a typical super market you can’t go back the same way you came in :) Stores are built like this for only one reason, your shopping security. I entered in the billing details, and selected that the shipping address is the same as the billing details. If your billing address is different to your shipping address, you will have the option to fill in these details as well. The next page is where I would enter in gift certificate codes or coupon codes, but for this order I don’t have any.

Before I started entering in my credit card details, I took a quick look at the web page and checked that the padlock logo is visible in the browser window and not just not the web page. In Firefox it is visible bottom left, and Windows Internet Explorer it is located top right near the end of the address bar. I also check the “http:” bit at the start of the address bar – the actual web site address and make sure it says “https:”. If it says “https” or I can see the pad lock is “closed” I will enter in my details because it is a secure Internet connection.

HTTPS means – H yper T ext T ransfer P rotocol – S ecure

In regards to shopping at OO, they are secure and well trusted by thousands of Australian customers, but it’s always a good habit to check every site before you start with your financial details. If you’re browsing their products pages or our web site for example, you don’t typically need a secure connection, which is why OOs order checkout system looks so different from their normal store pages.

Anyway, once the credit card details were done the next page was a simple order confirmation and tax invoice that I could print out. An email shortly arrived detailing the order costs, shipping charges, order numbers, contact details, and all the other detail you might need in the future. That’s it, the order is complete.

OO’s ordering system is a tried and proven method for a great Internet shopping experience, proven by the time that OO have been at the top of the online retailer list. In as little as three pages I had placed the order and the products were on the way. All of the order instructions are detailed during the order process, and if it’s not enough to explain how to operate the shopping cart system while you’re placing the order, there’s a phone number at the top of each order page just in case you need to call OO for specialised help in finishing the order.

If you’re interested in taking a look at OO products, have a browse at their store. There are thousands of products available and with a quick and simple approach to their ordering system, you’ll find it a great place to shop.
