Stunning Detail on Sterling Silver Sculptures

Ravish Designs have just added a new style of jewellery to it's popular web site recently, and this range of electroformed sterling silver sculptures provide some stunning miniature detail.

The electroforming process is when an artist takes a resin mold and puts it in a tub of electrically charged sterling silver. Over a 10 to 12 hour process, the electrically charged silver forms itself onto the mold, reproducing the external shape of the resin mold within a tiny one micrometre.

The artist then removes the piece and handcrafts in more detail, such as oxidation for depth. After the final design is finished, a clear coat is added to the sculpture, which prevents tarnishing and insures your piece will last a lifetime.

Prices for the electroform silverware at Ravish Designs range from $70 for a match box holder detailing the old city of Jerusalem, up to a silver bangle with a raised, scrolling pattern-work for $198.
