eBay Sellers Get New Values
eBay have announced that they will be introducing new "Item Condition" values on eBay.com.au. Over the next few weeks eBay sellers will be able to clearly state the condition of items.
The announcement comes as great news for eBay sellers & buyers alike, as these new values replace the New & Used options currently available.
These new values are intended to help sellers better manage buyers' items toward increased sales and customer satisfaction by clearly stating the condition of an item.
These item condition values will differ from category to category, but with the following list you can get an idea of the new values being introduced. Values like Brand New, New - Never Used, Manufacturer Refurbished, Seller refurbished, Used, For Parts or Not Working, e.t.c.
The new conditions are available now within the Phones category, and should be available in all other applicable categories from the week commencing 10th May 2010. eBays item condition values will become mandatory from late July this year, with a small number of categories in which the item condition values will be optional.
I think these values are long overdue. eBay should have implemented this before the huge auction site was open. I've seen too many eBay sellers detail the conditions of products in the confusing description section, now the product condition will be displayed along side prices and auction times, it'll be much easier to make decision about the product at a glance.
