Savvy Australian Shoppers Don't Wait for Official Apple iPad Release
As Apple holds back sales of the iPad in Australia until late April, savvy online shoppers aren't waiting that long to get their hands on one.
According to an article at Current.com.au, Internet savvy consumers are scrambling to be among the first to get their hands on the latest digital device from Apple, with a recent increase in online sales of Apple's new iPad through eBay.
The online sales spike of Apple's new iPad is not surprising, according to eBay head of corporate communications, Dan Feiler who said, "There is a very large group of people who want to be the first with these devices".
Figures released by eBay Australia, almost 1,500 iPads have been sold on the online auction site, with approximately 2,000 currently listed for sale with prices ranging from US$499 to a massive US$10,000 including hand delivery anywhere in the world!
I can't say I think it's a good idea to buy your iPad this way. I'd rather be safe and wait for the Apple release, at the Apple Store. Just consider 3G networks and warranties before you buy the US version.
If you're still going to buy an iPad at eBay contact us and let us know how it goes.
