Early this year, Harvey Norman opened up the online store, after years of Gerry Harvey ignoring the growing popularity of online shopping in Australia. You can't buy products at the online store yet, but there's a big effort going into the shop, to help shoppers make the right decision, with an online shopping guide called the Harvey Norman Learning Centre.

In this learning centre, you can gain expert knowledge to help you understand what you need to know about computers, new TVs, audio products and the latest gaming technologies. It's not just electronics either, the learning centre also includes home appliances, and helpful tips on furniture and bedding products.

These pages aren't just about selling trying to sell you something. There are guides there to explain how 3D TV works, which digital TV is best for watching Sports, even a "how to take the best baby photos" guide.

I've seen a few interviews with Gerry Harvey in the past, and he's always talking about the customer being happy and informed. It's good to see the Harvey Norman online shop keep Gerry Harveys' notion, making sure these pages are helpful and not just for a sale.
