Shoppers Buy Popular Bush DAB+ Digital Radios
Sighting the radio industry's first official digital radio service market data results, popular digital radio brand Bush Australia, pointed out that they hold 40% of the digital radio market. It's no surprise when you see the large range available to shoppers online.
On Monday of last week Commercial Radio Australia (CRA) released the first official data relating to digital radio broadcasts in Australia. The results are promising, stating that in just six months, 449,000 people are listening to digital radio in Australia in an average week, and there are around 104,000 digital radios in the market.
Bush Australia distributes the Bush, Grundig and Revo brands of digital radios around Australia, and in an article published at Current.com.au, Brian Rodgers, marketing & sales director at Bush Australia, seemed excited about the strong take-up of digital radio around the country. "We are really proud of the direction that DAB+ digital radio has taken. We have had a great response from our retailers and customers," he said.
"We plan to introduce in the next few months some innovative digital products, to excite the market and hold on to our share." he said. Some of the recent additions to the line-up for Bush Australia include a Grundig Touch panel DAB+ Micro digital radio, and the Revo IKON (pictured right) and DOMINO.
According to Rodgers, there are key demographic differences between the Bush, Revo and Grundig brands. For the Baby Boomers, Grundig has a high adoption rate. While the Bush brand of DAB+ radios attract the family orientated, female buyers, the Revo brand appeals to a larger female demographic due to its unique design.
These radios look great. Especially the Revo iBLIK RadioStation (pictured left) with it's Old Fashioned - Wind Up Music Box look along the top. However, I wont be joining the DAB+ digital radio band wagon any time soon. I just don't listen to enough free-to-air radio. I'm an iTunes Radio fan.
