Safe Shopping at DealsDirect
I'm happy to report that DealsDirect now have a clean bill of health from Google, and it's safe to shop online for bargains once again.
The problem occurred earlier today when Google discovered that malicious software was being downloaded and installed without user consent, and subsequently blocked access to dealsdirect.com.au. When a user tried to access the DealsDirect website in a browser, a warning message was displayed, directing users to a Google safe browsing diagnostic page, with more details about the suspicious activity.
A statement from DealsDirect received at midday confirmed that at 5.20am this morning, they discovered that a third-party software package had been compromised, and the problem was fixed within 30 minutes. However it took until 2pm this afternoon, for Google to remove the warning message, and allow traffic to flow freely again to DealsDirect.
