Order Pizza Online Much?
According to Eagle Boys Pizza we certainly have been ordering a lot of pizzas online recently -- in the last 12 months online pizza sales have increased by more than 300 percent.
An article published on Inside Retailing Online, suggests that a lot more Australians are ordering their pizzas online these days.
The increase in visitors to the Eagle Boys website over the last 12 months, has earned them two top ten popular website awards from Hitwise, and marks the first time they've been in a Hitwise Top Ten list.
I don't eat pizzas much actually, but I did check out the Eagle Boys online store, and at first glance, online ordering looked pretty simple. I went through the Eagle Boys pizza checkout, but I didn't confirm my order.
The first thing I noticed actually is that they're now accepting cash, which means you can pay at the door, instead of using a credit card online.
After entering my postcode and clicking the 'Home Delivery' button, I was prompted to enter my address details (on an https secure page), with a nice autofill option for my street name. You can order your pizza now, or book delivery later -- I was given an approximate delivery time of 60 minutes.
I'm a Vegan, so I chose the Vegie Delight, and I must say that I was mighty impressed with the options on the 'Customise Your Pizza' page, making it very easy for me to remove the cheese and garlic, and add extra roasted Mediterranean veggies!
As I reached the end of the pizza checkout with an order total of $18.95, I realised that delivery orders need to total $20 or more, which was a bit annoying, but understandable I suppose. I decided to add another topping to my pizza, which unfortunately became even more annoying, because there was no option to do that! All I could do was remove my pizza from the cart, and customise a new pizza all over again, which is certainly not very user-friendly at all.
I didn't enter my payment details and confirm the order, but I found the long-winded terms and conditions that had to be accepted rather off-putting.
Overall the Eagle Boys online order process starts off well, but the missing option to re-customise your pizza soured the whole experience for me I'm afraid.
If I did eat pizzas regularly, and Eagle Boys added a re-customise option to change the toppings, and removed the horrible 'terms and conditions' obstacle in my way, I'd happily choose to order my pizzas online from them.
