Don't Forget Your Shopping History

If you're not making good use of your browser history when you shop online then this post is for you. You don't need to keep track of which online stores you've visited or products you've looked at because your web browser does it for you.

The History in your web browser shows you the websites and pages that you've visited recently. If you've visited a lot of different websites and web pages your History makes it very easy to go back to them with just a few clicks.

You can show or hide your browsing history easily by using a handy keyboard shortcut that works in both Internet Explorer (IE) and Firefox.

Ctrl H - Show the History Sidebar

Tip: With a 2 key combination shortcut hold down the first key and then just tap the second key.

In Internet Explorer the History Sidebar closes when you click on a webpage or press Esc on the keyboard. In IE7 you can keep the sidebar open by clicking on the 'Pin the Favorites Center' button. In Firefox the History sidebar stays open until you close it or use Ctrl H again.

When the History Sidebar is open you can change the way in which sites and pages are displayed; you can sort them by date, site name, most frequently visited or most recently visited. Just click the arrow to the right of the History button in IE or the View button in Firefox.

The browser History is a great tool and once you know it's there you'll use it all the time.
