Australian International Design Awards - The Pet Loo - Your Backyard in a Box

The second product we've selected from the Design Awards 2008 lineup is this great invention by Pup-Pee Solutions, The Pet Loo.

The Pet Loo is 'your backyard in a box', a hygienic, convenient and environmentally friendly way to allow your pet to do its business without relying on you for an opportunity.

The Pet Loo is a device that allows dogs to do their business in doors or out, in a mess free, sanitary manner and is suitable for apartment owners, renters, the elderly, office dogs, boat owners, plush garden owners and grassless backyard owners.

Its primary function is to increase animal companionship, particularly among those people who had not considered owning a pet due to constraints of space. It also enables existing pet owners the convenience of not having to take their pets outside at all hours to go to the toilet.

Its design is deceptively simple. 3 years of testing went in to the design to ensure that the end product was something that pets would feel comfortable using, that it was effective in containing the waste and that it was easy to clean and maintain.

The Pet Loo is very strong (able to hold up to 300kg) and made entirely from plastic meaning that rusting is not a problem. The synthetic grass top layer is the only part that may need replacing and replacements are available.

The synthetic grass looks and feels like real grass so dogs will take to it.
