Australian International Design Awards - Breville ikon
The 2008 Australian International Design Awards entries have been announced and there are some fabulous products in the lineup. Over the next few months we'll be highlighting some of these entries for you and we'll also let you know where you can buy the products online.
The 2008 Awards has 159 entries across 12 categories from industry and emerging young designers, 69% of commercial entries are Australian designed and 31% are internationally designed.
The winners of the 2008 Australian International Design Awards will be presented on Friday 30 May 2008.
The first consumer product that caught my eye was the Breville BKT500 ikon Kettle & Toaster.
Breville saw a need for smaller more compact kitchen appliances that would free up bench space and reduce tangled cords. What they've come up with is a fully featured, compact and totally integrated Kettle-Toaster Combo.
