Long Way Down and Long Way Round

The Long Way Round was a great series; I got it on DVD earlier this year and had to watch it all the way through, night after night until the end. Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman make a great team and their journey was exciting, uplifting and fun to watch.

They travelled on motorbikes from London to New York, through Europe, the Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Russia, across the Pacific to Alaska, then down through Canada and America. From beginning to end it was a real adventure and you get to see it all, from fascinating encounters with different cultures to exhaustion and injury. You don't have to be a biker to appreciate it either!

I'm very happy to hear then that they've recently completed another challenging journey, the Long Way Down. This time Ewan and Charley traveled from the northernmost tip of Scotland, across Europe and down through Africa ending in Cape Town. I can't wait to see it and I can highly recommend both ;)
