iPhone Launched in the UK
The Apple iPhone launched in the UK on Friday and is being sold through Apple, O2 and The Carphone Warehouse.
So the big question is 'how long before it reaches Australia?'. There's no firm date yet but I'm betting it's going to be sometime in the second quarter 2008.
The good news is by the time it arrives here it will be well and truly tried and tested and any problems will be ironed out; unlike Windows Vista!
The iPhone is going to be a great fashion accessory but it doesn't really have a great spec, except for the 8GB flash drive of course! It's a Quad band GSM phone with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth & 2 megapixel camera.
If you're willing to wait for the iPhone then you might have 2 new phones to choose from; Google will be shipping their first phone in about 6 months. It looks like HTC are making the phone for Google and it's bound to be a major competitor for the Apple iPhone.
According to HTC the Google phone will be built from scratch but I reckon it'll be similar to the HTC Touch Dual.
If you're not bothered about waiting for Apple or Google then you can read more about the HTC Touch Dual.
So, Apple or Google, which brand of phone would you buy and why?
